Job Description
1.Deliver postgraduate courses within the Master of Arts in Communication (Sports, Health and Communication Concentration), including but not limited to interdisciplinary subjects such as Introduction to Complex Life Systems, Foundations of Data Science for Sports and Health, Sports Health and Communication Technology, Health Big Data, and Research Methods.
2.Develop and enhance digital sports and health curricula by integrating smart devices, wearable monitors, and virtual training platforms; utilize real-time data feedback to enrich student learning experiences and improve project outcomes.
3.Supervise Master’s students' Independent Projects, providing academic guidance and methodological support to help them apply intelligent technologies in solving practical industry challenges across sports organizations, health platforms, and digital media sectors.
4.Assist in program administration, including curriculum development, student advising, management of online learning platforms (e.g., iSpace), and coordination of guest lectures, workshops, or industry visits.
5.Participate in program promotion activities (e.g., open days, admission events, outreach seminars) and perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
Job Requirements
1.A PhD degree in a relevant field (e.g., Sports Science, Digital Health, Biomedical Engineering, Sport Performance, Health Communication, Data Science, or a closely related discipline) is required.
2.Fluent in both Chinese and English (spoken and written).
3.Teaching Competence:
-University-level teaching experience, preferably at the postgraduate level;
-Demonstrated background or strong interest in digital sports, health communication, sports analytics, or intelligent health systems.
4.Research Competence:
-Evidence of, or strong potential for, securing external research funding independently (e.g., national, regional, or institutional grants), with a commitment to actively contributing to the research output of the SHC programme;
-Ability to establish and maintain an active research agenda that complements the interdisciplinary nature of digital health technologies, sports analytics, or intelligent communication perspectives;
-Willingness to collaborate with faculty members on cross-disciplinary research initiatives and contribute to grant writing, research seminars, and academic events.
5.Technical Proficiency:
-Proficiency in at least one health data analysis or statistical tool (e.g., Python, R, or equivalent);
-Familiarity with the application of Generative AI (AIGC) tools, data acquisition and analysis from smart wearable devices, or immersive technologies (VR/AR/MR) is highly desirable.
6.Strong team collaboration spirit, with the ability to actively participate in curriculum system development and teaching innovation activities within the SHC programme.
7.Candidates with overseas education or experience in multicultural settings are preferred.
Benefits and Appointment Terms
Commencing salaries will be commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience. Fringe benefits include housing allowance, leave, social insurance and commercial insurance. Appointments to these positions will initially be made on a fixed-term contract with mutual agreement.
